Regular Season Round 8: KDPU - Kharkivski Sokoly 83-66

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Kharkivski Sokoly (4-1) in Kryvyi Rih. Visitors were defeated by KDPU (6-1) 83-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kharkivski Sokoly. Kharkivski Sokoly was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. KDPU forced 19 Kharkivski Sokoly turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The winners were led by power forward Artem Vodolaztcky (197-92) who scored that evening 23 points and 5 assists and point guard Sergey Startsev (190-97) supported him with 22 points and 4 assists. Four KDPU players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds by forward Vladislav Cheverdin (202-94) did not help to save the game for Kharkivski Sokoly. Forward Roman Olkhovskyi (196-90) added 15 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. KDPU have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted KDPU maintains first position with 6-1 record, which they share with Ternopil-TNEU and Prometey. Kharkivski Sokoly at the other side keeps the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Niko-Basket. KDPU will again play against Kharkivski Sokoly (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kharkivski Sokoly will have a break next round.
