Regular Season Round 6: GDESSA - Carnide 65-63

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Liga Femenina took place in Barreiro. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Carnide (3-3) to fourth ranked GDESSA (4-1) 65-63 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was international forward Maianca Umabano (180-97) who scored 16 points. International point guard Catarina Neves (173-93) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Ines Faustino (170-92) who recorded 21 points and American Treyvonna Brooks (185-94, college: Tenn Tech) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. GDESSA have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Carnide dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Benfica. GDESSA are looking forward to face AD Vagos (#5) on the road in the next round. Carnide will play against CAB Madeira in Funchal and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
