Regular Season Round 7: Schalke - Rostock 58-75

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Schalke (3-3) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Rostock (4-3) 75-58 on Sunday. Rostock looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Terrell Harris (191-93, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Tony Hicks (186-94, college: Louisville) helped adding 11 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Rostock's coach Milan Skobalj used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Canadian forward Mamadou Gueye (198-93, college: Alberta) responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) scored 11 points. Four Schalke players scored in double figures. Rostock moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Baunach. Schalke at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Heidelberg and Kirchheim. Rostock will meet bottom-ranked White Wings (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Schalke will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
