Weiterstadt can celebrate finally their first win this season after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Ludwigsburg, where they defeated Ludwigsburg (1-4) 71-63. Strangely Ludwigsburg outrebounded Weiterstadt 44-26 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for guard Christina Krick (169) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Tanja Lehnert (186-92) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Viktoria Krell (178-85, college: Lindsey Wilson) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Leonie Elbert (169-96) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Ludwigsburg in the defeat. Ludwigsburg's coach Tomas Vilkius tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Weiterstadt (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place in South. It was Ludwigsburg's fourth loss in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Weiterstadt's next round opponent will be higher ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (#6) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ludwigsburg will play against the league's leader Don Bosco Bamberg having rather not much hope for a victory.
