Regular Season Round 5: Darussafaka - Tofas 78-82

No shocking result in a game in Istanbul where fourth ranked Tofas (4-1) defeated 12th ranked Darussafaka (1-3) 82-78 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American guard Diante Garrett (193-88, college: Iowa St.) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Nigerian center Micheal Eric (210-88, college: Temple) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Jeremy Evans (206-87, college: W.Kentucky) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Darussafaka's coach Ahmet Caki let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tofas moved-up to second place. Loser Darussafaka dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Tofas will face bottom-ranked Banvit (#15) in Balikesir in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Darussafaka will play on the road against Pinar Karsiyaka (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
