There was a surprise result in Hamburg where fourteenth ranked ETV (3-6) defeated higher ranked Bergedorf (3-5) 68-52 on Sunday. ETV made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Bergedorf turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when ETV made 11 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian guard Vidmantas Uzkuraitis (189-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American guard Tyseem Lyles (188, college: Mercy) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Guard Steffen Kiese (190-87) responded with 15 points and 4 steals and center Markus Timm (204-88) scored 7 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. ETV moved-up to twelfth place in North, which they share with Westerstede. Bergedorf lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. ETV will face higher ranked Stade (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
