Regular Season Round 5: Blackbirds - Raiders 96-86

2.Bundesliga round 5 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader Raiders (4-1) against third ranked Blackbirds (4-1) 96-86 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Raiders. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Blackbirds led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Croatian center Marko Moric (205-81) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Christoph Astl (187-88) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Blackbirds players scored in double figures. Blackbirds' coach Daniel Muellner used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Croatian forward Jasmin Perkovic (206-80) answered with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and Slovenian point guard Ziga Erculj (182-86) added 29 points and 6 assists in the effort for Raiders. Blackbirds have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Rocks and Raiders. Raiders will play next round against strong Rocks trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Blackbirds will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Worthersee Piraten in Klagenfurt.
