We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifteenth ranked Lions (2-5) beat on the road 14th ranked Phoenix Hagen (1-5) 94-87 on Sunday. Lions made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Kahron Ross (180-95, college: Lehigh) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 assists and 4 steals. Center Maurice Pluskota (208-92) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Two Points) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Jonas Grof (201-96, college: High School) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Lions and five Phoenix Hagen players scored in double figures. Lions moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Walter Tigers. Phoenix Hagen lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Lions will meet at home higher ranked Gladiators (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Phoenix Hagen will play against Walter Tigers (#14) in Tuebingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
