Regular Season Round 6: Vienna - UBSC Graz 75-100

There was a minor upset in Vienna where 6th ranked Hallmann (2-4) was crushed by ninth ranked UBSC Graz (2-4) 100-75 on Sunday. UBSC Graz dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Hallmann's 30. They outrebounded Hallmann 36-16 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. UBSC Graz shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was American point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Serbian power forward Luka Nikolic (209-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Coach Milos Sporar's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma) who recorded 24 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and point guard Mustafa Hassan-Zadeh (165-96) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five UBSC Graz and four Hallmann players scored in double figures. UBSC Graz moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Vienna. UBSC Graz will meet at home bottom-ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (#10) in the next round. Hallmann will play against the league's leader Arkadia Lions where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
