Date: November 4, 2018
The most surprising game was the first loss of Brose Baskets (4-1) on the court of seventeenth ranked Braunschweig on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Braunschweig 92-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Brose Baskets. Braunschweig made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. American power forward Scott Eatherton (206-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard DeAndre Lansdowne (188-89, college: Fort Lewis, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: BeoBasket) with 14 points and American power forward Cliff Alexander (206-95, college: Kansas) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Braunschweig (1-5) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place. Brose Baskets at the other side keep the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with EWE Baskets. Braunschweig are looking forward to face higher ranked s Oliver Baskets (#10) in Wuerzburg in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Brose Baskets will play at home against Giessen 46ers (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
