Regular Season Round 7: Loewen - Giessen 46ers II 85-83

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Loewen (2-5) edged 8th ranked Giessen 46ers II (2-5) in Erfurt 85-83 on Sunday. Quite impressive performance for guard David Taylor (190-95, college: Pacific) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. American forward Robert Franklin (195-81, college: N.Mexico Highlands) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Loewen players scored in double figures. Loewen's coach Florian Gut used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Adam Klie (193-95, college: Cal-San Diego) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Giessen 46ers II. Loewen moved-up to eighth place in South, which they share with Coburg and Giessen 46ers II. Giessen 46ers II lost third consecutive game. Loewen will face higher ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
