Regular Season Round 5: Rostock Seawolves - Uni Baskets 94-67

Very predictable result when third ranked Rostock Seawolves (3-3) rolled over at home 8th ranked Uni Baskets (2-5) 94-67 on Sunday. Rostock Seawolves made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Uni Baskets turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Uni Baskets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Nicolas Buchholz (200-1) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!) (was perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line !!!). Toni Spiegel (200-1) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Paolo Petrie (187-0) answered with 10 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Christopher Kleinkes (207-0) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Uni Baskets. Four Uni Baskets players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rostock Seawolves. They maintain third place in Group 1 with 3-3 record having just three points less than leader Ludwigsburg BBA, which they share with Piraten Hamburg and Young Dragons. Uni Baskets lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with five games lost. Rostock Seawolves will face Berlin T. (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Uni Baskets will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
