Tarsus can celebrate finally their first win this season after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Istanbul, where they defeated Galatasaray (1-5) 81-76. Tarsus dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray's 34. They outrebounded Galatasaray 54-36 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tarsus players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Faik Kasikci (-0) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists to lead the effort and Mehmet Yilmaz (-0) supported him with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Even 23 points by guard Alp Oktay (189-1) did not help to save the game for Galatasaray. Emircan Soy (-1) added 11 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tarsus (1-4) left bottom position moving up to seventh place. Galatasaray at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Tarsus' next round opponent will be higher ranked Arel Univ (#6) in Istanbul and it may be quite challenging game. Galatasaray will play against Afyon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
