Regular Season Round 4: Galatasaray - Cukurova 64-70

KBSL top team - Cukurova (5-0) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat tenth ranked Galatasaray (2-3) in Istanbul 70-64. They outrebounded Galatasaray 42-28 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Senegalese-Spanish center Astou Ndour (198-94, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Swedish Abdi Farhiya (188-92) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Galatasaray. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cukurova have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record, which they share with Hatay. Loser Galatasaray dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Cukurova will face league's second-placed Kircicegi B. in Bodrum in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Galatasaray will play on the road against Ormanspor (#9) in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
