Regular Season Round 2: Siauliai-Univ. - Vilkmerge 70-87

Another exciting game was between fifth ranked Vilkmerge and one of their biggest challengers Siauliai-Univ. where Vilkmerge (1-2) beat Siauliai-Univ. (0-3) on the road with 17-point difference 87-70. Vilkmerge made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Siauliai-Univ. turnovers and outrebounded them 37-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. Vilkmerge players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Siauliai-Univ. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Kourtni Perry (188-93, college: Central State) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Klaudija Serkeviciute (172-99) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners. Brigita Sinickaite (175-1) replied with 24 points and 4 steals and Belarusian guard Sabira Ahayeva (170-0) added 9 points and 6 assists in the effort for Siauliai-Univ.Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vilkmerge left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with Fortuna. It was Siauliai-Univ.'s third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Patriotes. Vilkmerge will play against league's second-placed Aistes-LSU in Kaunas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Siauliai-Univ. will play on the road against Fortuna in Klaipeda and hopes to get finally their first victory.
