Regular Season Round 5: Siauliu - Jonavos 105-69

No shocking result in a game when leader Siauliu (5-0) crushed 8th ranked Jonavos (1-4) in Siauliai 105-69 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Siauliu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Jonavos' 30. They outrebounded Jonavos 41-26 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Siauliu looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Jonavos' players. Paulius Danusevicius (200-1) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Edvinas Daunys (202-2) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Five Siauliu players scored in double figures. Siauliu's coach Marius Krapikas felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Sarunas Dambrauskas (188-1) answered with 30 points and 6 rebounds and Paulius Petrauskas (190-2) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Jonavos. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Siauliu. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Vilniaus Silputa and Perkunas. Jonavos lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Siauliu will face Mazeikiu SM (#5) in Mazeikiai in the next round. Jonavos will play at home against Vilniaus Silputa (#3) and hope to win that game.
