Regular Season Round 5: Perkunas - Silutes SM 95-61

U18 League top team - Perkunas (5-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Silutes SM (2-3) in Kaunas 95-61. The game was mostly controlled by Perkunas. Silutes SM was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Perkunas dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Silutes SM's 34. Perkunas forced 21 Silutes SM turnovers and outrebounded them 51-31 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Silutes SM's players. Forward Gabrielius Celka (198-1) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Aristidas Koncius (193-1) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Dovydas Rimkus (193-1) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Dominykas Girskis (189-2) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Perkunas. They maintain first place with 5-0 record, which they share with Siauliu and Vilniaus Silputa. Silutes SM at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Vilniaus KM II and Panevezio. Perkunas will play against Sostines (#11) in Vilniaus in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Silutes SM will play at home against V.Knasiaus KM (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
