Regular Season Round 6: Targu Mures - Miercurea Ciuc 110-79

Liga Nationala top team - Targu Mures (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Miercurea Ciuc (2-4) 110-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Miercurea Ciuc. The game without a history. Targu Mures led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Miercurea Ciuc 37-15 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Targu Mures shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 assists. Forward Ioan-Alin Borsa (201-90) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Five Targu Mures players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Djordje Simeunovic (200-95, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 26 points and 5 assists and Serbian forward Goran Ostojic (206-91) added 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Targu Mures have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Newly promoted Miercurea Ciuc dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Agronomia Buc.. Targu Mures will meet Rapid (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Miercurea Ciuc will play against Marmatiei and hope to secure a win.
