Regular Season Round 11: Jonava - Delikatesas 72-80

We should mention about the upset which took place in Jonava, where 8th ranked Jonava (5-7) lost at home to eleventh ranked Delikatesas (6-5) 72-80 on Thursday. Delikatesas outrebounded Jonava 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Giedrius Stankevicius (205-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. International power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) helped adding 20 points and 10 rebounds. International forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and forward Augustinas Jankaitis (205-94) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Delikatesas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Silute and Perlas. Loser Jonava dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Delikatesas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jonava will play again against Delikatesas (#8) and hope to secure a win.
