Regular Season Round 2: Vilkmerge - Aistes-LSMU 75-70

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Aistes-LSU (2-2) against fourth ranked Vilkmerge (2-2) on Friday night. Visiting Aistes-LSU was defeated by Vilkmerge in a tough game in Ukmerge 70-75. Strangely Aistes-LSU outrebounded Vilkmerge 46-33 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international point guard Gabriele Gutkauskaite (175-90, agency: LBM Management) nailed 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Patricija Sribikyte (180-0) accounted for 15 points. International guard Kriste Druskyte (180-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Gabija Segzdaite (184-0) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Aistes-LSU in the defeat. Four Aistes-LSU players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vilkmerge moved-up to second place, which they share with Aistes-LSU and Fortuna. Vilkmerge will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aistes-LSU will play against the league's leader Kibirkstis in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
