Regular Season Round 9: Agronomia - Oradea 55-81

Liga Nationala round 9 most important game was a victory of Oradea over 5th ranked Agronomia 81-55 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Oradea. Agronomia managed to win fourth quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oradea forced 22 Agronomia turnovers and outrebounded them 40-23 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Agronomia's players. It was a good game for point guard Ruxandra Chis (176-93) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals. American forward Tierney Pfirman (188-94, college: Maryland) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Oradea players scored in double figures. Guard Sonia Vilcinschi (175-96) answered with 28 points and Alexandra Chitanu (174-95) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Agronomia. Agronomia's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Oradea (3-3) moved-up to fourth place in Nationala. Agronomia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Oradea will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Agronomia will play on the road against Alexandria (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
