Regular Season Round 7: Bremerhaven - MBC 76-81

Mitteldeutscher BC can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (3-4) on the road game in Bremerhaven 81-76 on Friday. Mitteldeutscher BC outrebounded Eisbaeren Bremerhaven 35-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for guard Lee Moore (193-95, college: UTEP) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points. Point guard Trevor Releford (183-91, college: Alabama) helped adding 12 points and 5 assists. At the losing side guard Elston Turner (195-90, college: Texas A&M) responded with 23 points and 7 assists and point guard Chris Warren (178-88, college: Mississippi) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Mitteldeutscher BC (1-5) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place, which they share with Ratiopharm. Loser Eisbaeren Bremerhaven dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. They share it with Ludwigsburg. Mitteldeutscher BC will meet at home league's leader Bayern Muenchen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against BBC Bayreuth (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
