Regular Season Round 7: Sibiu - Steaua B. 81-66

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Sibiu and 6th ranked Steaua B. had identical 2-2 record. This time Sibiu used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Bucuresti 81-66 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Sibiu. Steaua B. was better in second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Steaua B. 37-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Lithuanian Justas Tamulis (196-94) helped adding 22 points. At the losing side Croatian guard Ante Delas (200-88) responded with 20 points and American power forward Skylar Spencer (206-94, college: San Diego St.) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sibiu (3-2) moved-up to third place. Steaua B. lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with three games lost. Sibiu will face league's leader Cluj Napoca at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Steaua B.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bucuresti CS Dinamo Bucuresti.
