Regular Season Round 6: Istanbul BBSK - Galatasaray 69-77

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Istanbul: Galatasaray (#13) and Istanbul BBSK (#11). Istanbul BBSK was defeated at home 69-77 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Galatasaray players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American Aaron Harrison (198-94, college: Kentucky) who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Nigel Hayes (203-94, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists and the former international power forward Semih Erden (211-86) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Galatasaray (2-3) moved-up to eleventh place. Istanbul BBSK at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Galatasaray's next round opponent will be Afyon Bld (#14) in Afyonkarahisar. Istanbul BBSK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Darussafaka.
