2.Bundesliga top team - Don Bosco Bamberg (6-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Ludwigsburg (1-5) 57-48. Don Bosco Bamberg forced 21 Ludwigsburg turnovers. Strangely Ludwigsburg outrebounded Don Bosco Bamberg 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Serbian swingman Ivana Grbic (182-91, college: Eckerd) who scored that evening 16 points, 7 assists and 5 steals and Victoria Waldner supported her with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds by Viktoria Krell (178-85, college: Lindsey Wilson) did not help to save the game for Ludwigsburg. Point guard Iva Banozic (170) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Don Bosco Bamberg have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in South with 6-1 record. Ludwigsburg lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with five games lost. Don Bosco Bamberg will meet Jahn Muenchen (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ludwigsburg will play against the league's second-placed BasCats Heidelberg (#2) and hope to win that game.
