Very predictable result when third ranked TSV 1880 Wasserburg (6-2) defeated on the road 11th ranked Braunschweig (1-7) 81-73. TSV 1880 Wasserburg made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jennifer Schlott (168-91, college: Utah St.) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 assists. Leonie Fiebich (192-0) accounted for 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Swedish guard Matilda Claesson (170-94) came up with 18 points and American guard Shawnte' Goff (173-94, college: UTRGV) added 13 points respectively for Braunschweig in the defeat. Five TSV 1880 Wasserburg and four Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Braunschweig's coach Peter Kortmann rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. TSV 1880 Wasserburg maintains third place with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader Marburg. Newly promoted Braunschweig keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Chemnitz. TSV 1880 Wasserburg will play against TV Saarlouis Royals (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Braunschweig will play against XCYDE Angels Noerdlingen to get more than just one victory in their record.
