Undefeated ALBA Berlin (5-1) recorded its first loss on the court of eighth ranked SC Rasta Vechta on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by SC Rasta Vechta 80-69. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of ALBA Berlin. SC Rasta Vechta forced 20 ALBA Berlin turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Austin Hollins (195-91, college: Minnesota) fired 29 points and 4 steals for the winners. His fellow American import Seth Hinrichs (201-93, college: Lafayette) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Luke Sikma (202-89, college: Portland) produced 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian Rokas Giedraitis (201-92) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SC Rasta Vechta have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Goettingen and Telekom Bsk. ALBA Berlin at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with Brose Bask.. SC Rasta Vechta is looking forward to face higher ranked EWE Baskets (#5) in Oldenburg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ALBA Berlin will play at home against Brose Baskets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
