Regular Season Round 6: Academic Sofia - Rilski 71-91

The game in Sofia supposed to be also worth to mention about. Top-ranked Rilski (5-0) played at the court of 6th ranked Academic Sofia (2-4). Rilski did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-71. Rilski outrebounded Academic Sofia 43-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Academic Sofia's players. American Jalen Jenkins (201-94, college: George Mason) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Zlatin Georgiev (197-85) supported him with 10 points and 7 assists. Four Rilski players scored in double figures. Even 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Nikolay Nikolov (196-94) did not help to save the game for Academic Sofia. Center Tsvetomir Chernokozhev (208-0) added 17 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rilski have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-0 record behind leader Levski Lukoil. Academic Sofia lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with four games lost. Rilski will play against league's leader Levski Lukoil in Sofia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Academic Sofia will have a break next round.
