Regular Season Round 8: Giessen 46ers II - Elchingen 77-87

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Giessen 46ers II (2-6) was defeated at home by third ranked Elchingen (6-2) 87-77 on Saturday. Elchingen made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Colton Ray (196, college: Co.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Brian Butler (196-91) who added 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Elchingen's coach Pero Vucica used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Bjarne Kraushaar (190-99) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Elchingen have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Schwenningen and Fraport SKY II. Giessen 46ers II lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Elchingen will face OrangeAcademy (#6) in Ulm in the next round. Giessen 46ers II will play on the road against Coburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
