Regular Season Round 7: Darussafaka - Pinar Karsiyaka 70-79

An interesting game for Pinar Karsiyaka (6-1) which played road game in Istanbul against their biggest opponent Darussafaka (6-1). Third ranked Pinar Karsiyaka managed to get a 9-point victory 79-70. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Darussafaka. They outrebounded Darussafaka 49-37 including 17 on the offensive glass. Pinar Karsiyaka players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for Muhammet Acar (-0) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Inanc Hotamis (-1) helped adding 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side guard Mert Akay (198-0) responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Canberk Basduran (-1) scored 14 points. Darussafaka's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Pinar Karsiyaka. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Darussafaka. Pinar Karsiyaka will play against Istanbul BBSK (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Darussafaka will play against the league's leader Banvit (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
