Regular Season Round 7: Kyiv Basket - Odessa 84-81

Important game to mention about took place in Kyiv. Fourth ranked Kyiv Basket (6-4) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Odessa (4-4) 84-81 in the fight for the fourth place. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 21-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kyiv Basket forced 20 Odessa turnovers. Odessa was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Maurice Creek (196-90, college: G.Washington) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Odessa's coach Oleg Yushkin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Kyiv Basket maintains fourth place with 6-4 record. Odessa lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with four games lost. Kyiv Basket will face league's leader Zaporizhye in Zaporozhye in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Odessa will play at home against Politekhnik (#8) and hope to win that game.
