Regular Season Round 10: Nevezis - Neptunas 69-83

LKL top team - Neptunas (9-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Nevezis (2-8) in Kedainiai 83-69. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. Nevezis managed to win third quarter 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Neptunas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Lorenzo Williams (187-84, college: Rice) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Simas Galdikas (203-87) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Martynas Varnas (196-97) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Regimantas Miniotas (206-96) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neptunas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record, which they share with Zalgiris. Nevezis lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with eight games lost. Neptunas is looking forward to face Rytas (#3) in Vilnius in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Nevezis will play at home against Dzukija (#5) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
