Regular Season Round 9: Dortmund - Deutzer 81-67

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 12th ranked Deutzer's (1-7) road loss to eleventh ranked Dortmund (3-5) 67-81 on Saturday. Dortmund made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Deutzer outrebounded Dortmund 45-32 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Deutzer's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Aaron Bowser (190-84, college: Ariz.Christian) who scored 29 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Felix Fuhrmann (175-90) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Philipp Pfeifer (196-97) who recorded 6 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Marc-Dominique Verlemann (186) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Deutzer's coach tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dortmund moved-up to tenth place in West. Deutzer lost their seventh game in a row. Deutzer at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Dortmund will face higher ranked Grevenbroich (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Deutzer will play against Dorsten (#5) and hope to win that game.
