The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Istanbul Uni (0-5) on the court of fifth ranked Fenerbahce on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Fenerbahce 81-46. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Istanbul Uni's 24. They outrebounded Istanbul Uni 44-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Belarusian center Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Czech-American power forward Kia Vaughn (193-87, college: Rutgers) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Senegalese power forward Aminata Fall (193-91, college: S.Nazarene, agency: Two Points) answered with 6 points and 12 rebounds and the former international center Yasemin Gunes (189-93, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) added 14 points in the effort for Istanbul Uni. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fenerbahce have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion (4-1) moved-up to third place, which they share with Besiktas and Botas. Istanbul Uni at the other side still keeps top with five games lost. They share the position with Kircicegi B.. Fenerbahce is looking forward to face league's second-placed Hatay on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Istanbul Uni will play against the league's leader Cukurova and hopes to get finally their first victory.
