The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Goetting.ASC as it allowed them to take a leadership position in North. Goetting.ASC defeated 7th ranked WSG Koenigs in Goettingen 93-85. WSG Koenigs were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Andrew Onwuegbuzie (192-95) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Nick Boakye (197-95) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Nico Adamczak (191-90) answered with 23 points and guard Simon Paul (188-93) added 16 points in the effort for WSG Koenigs. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Goetting.ASC. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Stahnsdorf. WSG Koenigs lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Neustadt TSV. WSG Koenigs will play next round against Aschersleben trying to get back on the winning streak. Goetting.ASC will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Bergedorf at Hamburg.
