Date: November 11, 2018
The most exciting game of round 7 in the Liga Nationala took place in Oradea. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Oradea won third quarter 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Cluj Napoca won last quarter 21-20. It was a great evening for American Kyndall Dykes (192-87, college: New Orleans) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side international point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Kris Richard (196-89, college: Tulane) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Oradea's coach Cristian Achim rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cluj Napoca maintains first place with 4-1 record, which they share with Craiova. Defending champion Oradea dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Pitesti. Cluj Napoca is looking forward to face Sibiu (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Oradea will play against Pitesti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
