Regular Season Round 9: Rostock - Nuernberg 65-76

An interesting game took place in Rostock where 4th placed Rostock (5-4) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Nuernberg (4-1) 76-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rostock. Nuernberg forced 21 Rostock turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Ishmail Wainright (196-94, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Center Robert Oehle (209-88) contributed with 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Tony Hicks (186-94, college: Louisville) answered with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Rostock. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rostock's coach Milan Skobalj tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Nuernberg moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Rostock dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Nuernberg's next round opponent will be higher ranked Gladiators (#3) in Trier and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rostock will play at home against Phoenix Hagen and hope to win that game.
