Regular Season Round 11: Dnipro-2 - KDPU 68-91
Date: November 11, 2018
Very expected game when 6th ranked Dnipro-2 (2-6) was smashed at home by second ranked KDPU (7-2) 91-68 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-68. KDPU looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when KDPU made 8 blocks. Point guard Sergey Startsev (190-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Center Valeriy Anisimov (210-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Ihor Dubonenko (197-98) answered with 29 points and 5 rebounds and Yevhenii Sorochan (192-0) added 12 points in the effort for Dnipro-2. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Newly promoted KDPU maintains second place with 7-2 record having just three points less than leader Prometey. Dnipro-2 lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. KDPU will have a break next round. Dnipro-2 will play on the road against the league's leader Prometey (#1) in Kamianske and hope to win that game.
