Regular Season Round 9: Bergedorf - Westerstede 72-76

There was an upset in Hamburg where higher ranked Bergedorf (3-6) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Westerstede (4-6) 76-72 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was point guard Jacob Hollatz (191-98) who had a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists. Croatian-Bosnian power forward Sandro Antunovic (207-98) chipped in 27 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Markus Timm (204-88) who recorded 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Steffen Kiese (190-87) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Bergedorf's coach Bjoern Fock tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Westerstede moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with Cuxhaven. Bergedorf lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Westerstede will face higher ranked Stade (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bergedorf will play against the league's leader Goetting.ASC (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
