Regular Season Round 6: Junior Loewen - HAKRO Merlins 86-60

There was an upset when higher ranked HAKRO Merlins (3-3) were smashed by eighth ranked Junior Loewen (2-3) in Braunschweig 86-60 on Sunday. Junior Loewen forced 26 HAKRO Merlins turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Junior Loewen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for center Mark Mboya-Kotieno (206-0) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Damjan Milutinovic (183-0) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Junior Loewen's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Croatian point guard Vladan Lazic (190-1) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Stefan Vasovic (196-1) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for HAKRO Merlins. Junior Loewen moved-up to fifth place in Group 3, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser HAKRO Merlins keep the third position with three games lost.
