Regular Season Round 6: Nuernberg Falcons - Science City Jena 76-84

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Science City Jena (3-3) beat 4th ranked Falcons (2-3) in Nuernberg 84-76 on Sunday. Science City Jena made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Falcons were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Melvin Jostmann (200-0) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Benjamin Dizdar (193-0) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Point guard Robert Merz (193-0) replied with 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Ben Gahlert (203-0) added 24 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Falcons. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Science City Jena moved-up to third place in Group 3, which they share with HAKRO Merlins. Falcons lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with three games lost.
