Regular Season Round 9: Stade - Eimsbuetteler 100-84

There was no surprise when 13th ranked ETV (3-7) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Stade (5-4) 100-84 on Sunday. Stade made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Stade had a 37-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. ETV was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was swingman Janis Stielow (193-95) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. Spanish point guard Francesc Iturria (180-96, college: Culver Stockton) chipped in 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Stade players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian guard Vidmantas Uzkuraitis (189-85) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Tyseem Lyles (188, college: Mercy) added 20 points respectively. ETV's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Stade moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Rendsburg. Newly promoted ETV dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Stade will face Westerstede (#9) on the road in the next round. ETV will play against Neustadt TSV (#8) and hope to win that game.
