Regular Season Round 8: Schwenningen - Loewen 78-76

Eighth-ranked Loewen (2-6) gave a tough game to fourth ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (6-2). BV Villingen-Schwenningen managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Loewen. BV Villingen-Schwenningen forced 19 Loewen turnovers. The winners were led by American forward Rasheed Moore (196-95, college: E.Stroudsburg) who scored that evening 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and point guard Leon Friederici (190-95) supported him with 8 points and 13 rebounds. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Robert Franklin (195-81, college: N.Mexico Highlands) did not help to save the game for Loewen. Guard David Taylor (190-95, college: Pacific) added 24 points for the guests. BV Villingen-Schwenningen moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Elchingen and Fraport SKY II. Loewen at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will play against Fraport Skyliners II (#3) in Frankfurt in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Loewen will play at home against Koeln Rh.Stars (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
