Regular Season Round 9: Stahnsdorf - Wolmirstedt 83-81

Round 9 in Regionalliga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Stahnsdorf where host RSV Eintracht (8-1) edged league's leader Wolmirstedt (8-2) 83-81 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Wolmirstedt. It was a key game for the top position in North. 27 personal fouls committed by Wolmirstedt helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was swingman Sebastian Fuelle (193-92) who scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Matthew Dogan (201-94, college: Gannon) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. RSV Eintracht's coach Denis Toroman used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) who recorded 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Lithuanian forward Arvydas Gydra (206-89) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. RSV Eintracht have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of North leader, which they share with Goetting.ASC. Newly promoted Wolmirstedt dropped to the third place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Leitershofen. Wolmirstedt will play next round against Vechta-2 trying to make it back to the top of the standings. RSV Eintracht will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Cuxhaven on the road.
