Regular Season Round 7: Bursa BSB - Akdeniz U. 88-89

A very close game took place in Bursa between Akdeniz U. and Bursa BSB. Eleventh ranked Akdeniz U. (3-4) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Bursa BSB (3-4). Akdeniz U. managed to escape with a 1-point win 89-88 in the game for the eighth place. Strangely Bursa BSB outrebounded Akdeniz U. 54-27 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American point guard Brene Moseley (170, college: Maryland, agency: LBM Management) fired 51 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Belgin Onbasi (177-82) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Akdeniz U. players scored in double figures. American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: IU Northwest, agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 23 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and the former international Fahriye Bayraktar (185-95) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Akdeniz U. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Bursa BSB and Nesibe. Akdeniz U. will meet at home Mersin Gelisim (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bursa BSB will play against Istanbul U.G (#13) and hope to secure a win.
