Regular Season Round 13: Delikatesas - Perlas 75-74

A very interesting game took place in Joniskis. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Perlas (6-7) to seventh ranked Delikatesas (8-5) 75-74 on Friday evening. Delikatesas dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Perlas' 34. They outrebounded Perlas 38-26 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Delikatesas players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Perlas' players. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) contributed with 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Karolis Giedraitis (194-98) answered with 27 points and guard Augustas Marciulionis (186-2) added 13 points and 4 steals in the effort for Perlas. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Delikatesas have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Neptunas-Akv. Perlas lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. Delikatesas' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked KTU (#15) in Kaunas which should be an easy win for them. Perlas will play at home against Ezerunas (#14) and hope to win that game.
