Regular Season Round 10: Uni Baskets - Chemnitz 84-99

Undefeated leader Chemnitz delivered the ninth consecutive victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Uni Baskets (4-6) 99-84 in Paderborn. Chemnitz dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Uni Baskets' 32 and made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Chemnitz forced 19 Uni Baskets turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ivan Elliott (203-86, college: UCSB) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Jonas Richter (205-97) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Grant Benzinger (190-96, college: Wright St.) replied with 21 points and 6 assists and forward Marc Nagora (203-93) added 11 points in the effort for Uni Baskets. Uni Baskets' coach Uli Naechster rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chemnitz (9-0) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row. Uni Baskets at the other side keep the eleventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Walter Tigers and Baunach. Chemnitz will play against Baunach (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Uni Baskets will play against Gladiators in Trier and hope to get back on the winning track.
