Regular Season Round 14: KTU - Delikatesas 57-97

There was no surprise in Kaunas where 14th ranked KTU (3-10) was crushed by seventh ranked Delikatesas (8-5) 97-57 on Saturday. Delikatesas dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KTU's 30. They outrebounded KTU 41-26 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Delikatesas looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by KTU's players. KTU was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Rytis Biliartas (202-91) who scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Julius Kigas (187-96) produced 14 points and center Laurynas Miknevicius (200-98) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Delikatesas have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Neptunas-Akv. KTU lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Delikatesas will face Zalgiris II (#8) in Kaunas in the next round. KTU will play on the road against the league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga (#2) in Marijampole and hope to win that game.
