Regular Season Round 10: Kamp-Lintfort - Hertener Loewen 53-89

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Kamp-Lintfort (1-8) was outscored at home by fourth ranked Hertener Loewen (6-2) 89-53 on Saturday. Hertener Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kamp-Lintfort's 20. They outrebounded Kamp-Lintfort 45-33 including 35 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Hertener Loewen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Quite impressive performance for guard Faton Jetullahi (188-94) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized American Ryon Howard (198-84, college: Sacred Heart) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. Hertener Loewen's coach Cedric Huesken felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Lennard Schild (190-1) replied with 12 points and Thomas Achtermeier (195-94) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kamp-Lintfort. Hertener Loewen moved-up to second place in West, which they share with Herford. Kamp-Lintfort lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Hertener Loewen will face Hagen-Haspe (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Kamp-Lintfort will play against Salzkotten (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
