Very expected game in Essen where 8th ranked BA Weser-Ems (1-6) were defeated by second ranked Ruhr (5-1) 73-65 on Saturday. Ruhr forced 24 BA Weser-Ems turnovers. Erik Neusel (204-0) fired 25 points and 6 steals for the winners. Point guard Alexander Winck (195-0) chipped in 7 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Ruhr's coach Thorsten Morzuch used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Center Norris Agbakoko (215-0) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds and Alexander Hopp (201-1) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Ruhr. They maintain second place in Group 2 with 5-1 record having just one point less than leader Ludwigsburg BBA. BA Weser-Ems lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. Ruhr will face BG Goettingen (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BA Weser-Ems will play against Team Bonn/Rh. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
